Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match winning run came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.
In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's new record, the new release, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Life
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football team," he added.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.
My son advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.
They have have lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.
But I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard one to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
