The area has been described as an "environmental catastrophe".
Journalist surveyed the scene and said the mound appeared to be "six meters tall at least".

Illegal dumpers have discarded a massive amount of waste in a field in Oxfordshire.

The "ecological disaster unfolding in full view" is approximately 150m (490ft) extending and 6m (20ft) in height.

The massive pile has been discovered in a plot of land adjacent to the River Cherwell in the vicinity of Kidlington.

Parliament representative highlighted the situation in parliament, saying it was "posing risk of an environmental disaster".

Conservation group reported the unauthorized rubbish dump was created approximately a recently by an organised crime group.

"This represents an ecological disaster unfolding in plain sight.

"Daily that elapses elevates the danger of toxic drainage entering the river system, poisoning wildlife and putting at risk the wellbeing of the complete watershed.

"Environmental authorities must take action now, not in months or years, which is their usual response period."

Legal prohibition had been established by the Environment Agency.

It is difficult to distinguish any specific items of waste as it seems to have been pulverized with soil blended.

Part of the rubbish from the top of the heap has fallen and is now merely five metres from the waterway.

The River Cherwell is a tributary of the River Thames, which signifies it flows through Oxford before connecting with the Thames.

Elected official said the expense of clearing the garbage would be high

The representative petitioned the authorities for assistance to eliminate the illegal site before it triggered a blaze or was carried into the aquatic system.

Addressing parliament members on this week, he declared: "Illegal operators have deposited a mountain of illegal plastic waste... weighing hundreds of tonnes, in my constituency on a floodplain next to the River Cherwell.

"Water heights are growing and temperature readings show that the garbage is also warming, elevating the danger of blaze.

"The Environment Agency stated it has inadequate capabilities for regulation, that the estimated expense of removal is greater than the entire annual funding of the municipal authority."

Environment minister stated the government had assumed responsibility for a underperforming recycling sector that had resulted in an "epidemic of illegal dumping".

She advised MPs the authority had served a prohibition notice to halt more entry to the location.

In a statement, the agency said it was looking into the situation and requested for details.

It said: "We share the community's frustration about situations like this, which is why we take action against those culpable for waste crime."

A recently published investigation discovered efforts to tackle major waste crime have been "extremely neglected" despite the problem becoming larger and more sophisticated.

Government advisors recommended an independent "root and branch" examination into how "endemic" illegal dumping is dealt with.
