FC Barcelona Ready for Historic Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. After final construction, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium in early November. The club said approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht in December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
